Directional Halogen lamp ban

From the 1st September 2016, the production of directional mains voltage halogen lamps was banned. These include lamps such as GU10, R63, R50 etc.

Lamps of this type which were produced before the 1st September 2016 may be sold until existing stocks are depleted but may not be produced.

The reason for the ban is to encourage homeowners and business’ to replace their fittings with more energy efficient LED fittings.
