Fines for Health and Safety breaches

If your company is found to be in breach of Health and Safety legislation, your fine will now be sufficiently substantial to have real economic impact to the company.

When determining the fine, the courts will now consider culpability, annual turnover (for the company) or equivalent, cost cutting at the expense of H&S and the company H&S record.

Companies need to make sure that they have proportionate and adequate arrangements in place for Health and Safety for their company size and to cover the work that they perform day to day.
